What is FSEA?

As a member organization in the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA), with its fourty-two  member organizations, the FSEA has a powerful national voice. That voice is even stronger now in Florida with a past President of the FSEA being a past President of NCSEA and FSEA members on an NCSEA Code Advisory Committee and Board of Directors.

The FSEA provides input and leadership on building codes and their enforcement, sponsors technical seminars and roundtable discussions, organizes informal mixers to facilitate networking between peers, and addresses common concerns of the profession such as separate licensing for Structural Engineers.  Since its founding in 1996, the FSEA has made a difference in the Structural Engineering Profession in Florida.

Why Join the FSEA?

The following are just a few good reasons to consider joining:

  • FSEA focuses on the needs of Florida's Structural Engineers
  • FSEA fosters self-determination.  FSEA members decide what issues are vital to te Structural Engineering profession and how those issues will be handled
  • FSEA represents your interests by promoting fair representation for Florida's Structural Engineers
  • FSEA is administered by a board with representatives from all across Florida
  • FSEA provides a mechanism where by the public is educated regarding the role of the Structural Engineer

As a member of FSEA you will become a member of the National Council of Structural Engineers Association.  You will have the opportunity to learn about Structural Engineering issues of concern and how they are dealt with in other parts of the country.  You can help the FSEA provide the same level of leadership in the State of Florida, as in California and forty other states.
